Esta investigação tem como principal objectivo apreender a dimensão do trágico no
cinema de João Canijo. Como tal, a presente investigação desdobra-se a partir de dois
eixos principais: (i) o primeiro eixo fornece uma leitura global do trágico e da
tragédia a partir de algumas linhas de pensamento que marcam o percurso do trágico e
da tragédia, desde Aristóteles até à contemporaneidade; (ii) o segundo eixo incide na
análise dos filmes do cineasta João Canijo, a partir dos quais se pretende analisar
alguns temas principais do trágico e da tragédia.
This research aims to grasp the extent of tragedy in João Canijo’s cinema. Therefore, it unfolds from two main areas: (i) the first axis provides a comprehensive reading of the tragic and tragedy, following several lines of thought that underline the genre from Aristotle to the present day; (ii) the second axis focuses on the analysis of João Canijo’s films, from which it intends to analyze some of the main themes of the tragic and tragedy.
