Resumo(s)
The series of letters from Sophia de Melo Breyner to Jorge de Sena create at times a mirror in which they look upon themselves and struggle with their own nature. The letters’ origin, their discursive and material form, their limits and their own fate are some of the problems that trouble them within a framework in which their historical time dramatically intervenes. Considering that epistolary criticism highlights this disquiet as one of the central aspects of the private letter, the approach developed here deals with this specular movement in the light of some theoretical contributions.
