O A. esclarece que numa região agrícola fortemente hiperendémica onde se foi instalar uma população não imune (europeus), ao fim de 3 anos de tratamento embora não tenha conseguido interromper completamente a transmissão, conseguiu dominar a doença e criar uma área semi-urbana hipoendémica, e salubre, dentro de urna área rural hoje considerada como mesoendémica, cuja salubridade é muito satisfatória.
The author explains, that in an agricultural region highly hyperendmic where a non-imune population of Europeens was installed, after 3 years of treatment, although he could not interrupt completely the transmission of the disease was able to control it. He established a semi-urban hypoendemic and salubrious area, in a rural region which is considered to-day as mesoendemic, the salubrity of which is very satisfactory.
