Os Serviços de Saúde de Cabo Verde ocupam a área correspondente a esta Província Ultramarina, constituída pelo arquipélago do mesmo nome, situado no Oceano Atlântico, a 455 quilómetros da costa ocidental da África, entre os paralelos 17° e 14° Norte, e os meridianos 22° e 25° Oeste de Greenwich.
Compõe-se de 15 ilhas e ilhéus, das quais são 9 as ilhas habitadas, e dispostas em dois grupos - o de Barlavento e o de Sota vento - mercê da sua posição em relação aos ventos dominantes do quadrante de Nordeste.
As ilhas habitadas são: de Barlavento – Stº. Antão, S. Vicente, S. Nicolau, Sal e Boavista; de Sotavento - Maio, Santiago, Fogo e Brava.
Os serviços de saúde cobrem todas as ilhas habitadas, como as enumeradas acima.
The Cape Verde Health Services cover the area corresponding to this Overseas Province, consisting of the archipelago of the same name, located in the Atlantic Ocean, 455 kilometres off the west coast of Africa, between parallels 17° and 14° North, and meridians 22° and 25° West of Greenwich. It consists of 15 islands and islets, of which 9 are inhabited, arranged in two groups - Barlavento and Sotavento - due to their position in relation to the prevailing winds from the northeast. The inhabited islands are: Barlavento - Stº. Antão, S. Vicente, S. Nicolau, Sal and Boavista; Sotavento - Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Brava.
