"Pursuit behaviors require the coordination of movements between
the head and body to stabilize the target image within the pursuer’s
gaze, enabling accurate estimations of the target’s trajectory that are
critical for predation and courtship interactions. However, how visual
information is integrated with gaze control to direct the pursuer’s
subsequent actions remains poorly understood. We leveraged the
courtship pursuit behavior of Drosophila melanogaster, in which male
flies continuously orient themselves toward a moving female, to eval uate the role of head-body coordination on pursuit success(...)"
