Considerando um dos objectivos do nosso projecto - a investigação dos contextos sócio-culturais da Arte Esquemática no Vale do Côa – e partindo do caso de estudo das Lapas Cabreiras, consideramos que a investigação dos contextos arqueológicos, quer no sentido da identificação de um momento de passagem/ocupação/uso dos sítios, quer do reconhecimento de outras ocorrências na sua envolvente, fornecerá um conjunto de dados muito importantes para a reflexão e compreensão de várias questões em aberto, sobressaindo a seguinte: Até que ponto as evidências materiais (da escavação e da prospecção) e a ocupação de diferentes sítios nos ajudam a compreender o uso e a ocupação daquela paisagem? Considering one of the objectives of our project - the investigation of the socio-cultural contexts of Schematic Art in the Côa Valley – and starting from the case study of Lapas Cabreiras, we consider that the investigation of archaeological contexts, either in the sense of identifying a moment of transit/occupation/use of the sites, or the recognition of other occurrences in its surroundings, will provide a set of very important data for understanding several open questions, highlighting the following: To what extent does material evidence (from excavation and field surveys) and the occupation of different sites help us to understand the use and occupation of the landscape?
