A “Sonata p.a Órgão” de Arouca é uma das mais significativas obras do repertório de tecla portuguesa dos alvores do século XIX, seja pela forma de utilização do órgão requerida no manuscrito, seja pelo seu interesse musical e interpretativo. A sonata se relaciona diretamente com o órgão histórico do antigo Mosteiro de Arouca (1739), instrumento excepcional no contexto da organaria ibérica e portuguesa. O presente artigo visa refletir acerca das opções editoriais e interpretativas do repertório histórico de tecla ibérica, através do enfoque específico da sonata de Arouca, à luz das fontes musicais e organológicas inerentes à sua gênese. The “Organ Sonata” from Arouca is one of the most significant works of the Portuguese keyboard repertoire from the beginning of the 19th century due to its musical and interpretative interest and the use of the organ required. The sonata is directly related to the historic organ of the ancient Monastery of Arouca (1739), an exceptional instrument in the context of Iberian and Portuguese organ-making. This article aims to reflect on the editorial and interpretative possibilities of Iberian historic keyboard music, focusing on the Arouca Sonata, in the light of the musical and organological sources inherent to its genesis.
