O autor, depois de citar os trabalhos de
John Snow no estudo da epidemia de
cólera em Londres (1855), chama a
atenção para a referência que Ribeiro
Sanches faz, mais de cem anos antes, à
acção conduzida por Duarte Lopes no
controlo da epidemia perto de Coimbra.
After referring to the work of John Snow in the study of the cholera epidemic of 1855 in London, the author calls attention to the reference made by Ribeiro Sanches, 100 years before, mentionning the work of Duarte Lopes in controlling the waterborne epidemic which occured near Coimbra.
