This research analyses, in an industrial classical context - the municipality of Almada in the 30’s and 40’s of the 20th century – feminine working class resistance modes, occurred during the construction and consolidation of the Estado Novo’s corporative political model. Two types of resistance, different but complementary, are analysed: the “quotidian resistance” and the “moments of public and collective revolt”. The final aim is – through the crossing of Gender and Social Movements perspectives – to understand the way these women put their several protest grammars into action; and how inscribe them in a broader “resistance culture” in terms of class and gender subordination.
