Em Portugal, o desenvolvimento administrativo potenciado pela Revolução Liberal promoveu uma Administração Pública que refletiu ao nível ministerial uma estruturação progressiva e um modus operandi burocrático. Sintomatologias que alastraram aos arquivos. Foi explorado o “Arquivo Moderno do Ultramar” (1833-1910) privilegiando-se o estudo orgânico-funcional da Direção-Geral do Ultramar e a história custodial daquele conjunto documental depositado no Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino, em Lisboa. Um estudo que permitiu compreender o crescimento do arquivo e a sua relevância na administração ultramarina. In Portugal, the administrative development enhanced by the Liberal Revolution promoted a Public Administration that reflected at ministerial level a progressive structuring and a bureaucratic modus operandi. Symptoms that spread to the archives. To explore the “Modern Overseas Archive” (1833-1910) was privileged the organicfunctional study of the Direção-Geral do Ultramar and the custodial history from that records group held at the Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino, in Lisbon.
