A cooperação energética é um elemento base da segurança energética, imprescindível para fazer face aos desafios da demanda global de energia e aos efeitos das alterações climáticas e ambientais. Para a China, a cooperação energética é consolidada através do reforço de relações bilate‑ rais e multilaterais com países produtores e está integrada na «Going Out Strategy» e na Belt and Road Initiative (bri). Este artigo analisa a evolução da cooperação energética chinesa com África, procurando demonstrar a importância deste continente para a segurança de abastecimento e para o contributo do Governo chinês para o desenvolvimento energético sustentável global. Energy cooperation is a cornerstone of energy security and is essential for addressing the challenges of global energy demand and the effects of climate and environmental change. For China, energy cooperation has been consolidated through the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations with producing countries and is part of the Going Out strategy and the One Belt One Road Initiative. This article analyses the evolution of China energy cooperation with Africa in an attempt to demonstrate the importance of this continent has for the security of supply and for the Chinese government's contribution to global sustainable energy development.
