A protecção do investidor no mercado de capitais

Abstract

Angolan capital market does exist formally for 15 years. Throughout this time there have been many successive amendments to the Securities Code which is the basic legal act of this subsector of the financial system in order to adapt to the new requirements of the sector. However, its growth has been slow and not following the legislative evolution. In every diplomas that deal with this matter, investor protection is considered the main goals of capital market supervision, revealing the importance attributed to the investor for the growth of the market. This dissertation one intends to highlight the investor protection importance for the development of capital market in Angola, analysing the existing mechanisms for its realization.

O mercado de capitais existe formalmente em Angola há 15 anos. Ao longo desse período, tem havido sucessivas alterações ao Código de Valores Mobiliários que é a lei base desse subsector do sistema financeiro, visando adequá-lo às novas exigências do sector. No entanto, o seu crescimento tem sido muito lento, não acompanhando a evolução legislativa. Nos vários diplomas que tratam da matéria, a protecção do investidor é tida como uma das principais finalidades da supervisão do mercado de capitais, revelando a relevância que se atribui ao investidor para o crescimento do mercado. Com essa Dissertação, pretende-se destacar a importância da protecção do investidor para o desenvolvimento do mercado de capitais em Angola, analisando os mecanismos existentes para a sua concretização.
