RESUMO - Apesar de se reconhecer universalmente que os professores
apresentam um maior risco vocal do que outros profissionais,
ainda não está claro, em Portugal, que tal facto possa
ser aceite como doença profissional. No presente artigo
define-se uso profissional da voz, indica-se a incidência, os
factores causais e os efeitos dos problemas de voz e ainda
as formas de avaliação e estratégias de prevenção vocal
para o professor.
ABSTRACT - Teachers are recognized universally to be at a higher risk to acquire voice problems than other professionals, yet the issue of occupational voice problems among teachers has not been well defined in the Portuguese context. Consequently, this article addresses the occupational voice problems among Portuguese teachers, and covers specifically the prevention, and treatment of voice problems of this professional group.
