| dc.description.abstract | "Dry eye disease (DED), results from tear film instability, inflammation, ocular surface damage and has significantly increased worldwide. Different risk factors are associated to this disease including aging, climate change, use of contact lens, hormonal changes, use of electronic screens, among others. The development of cures is highly essential for the treatment of DED. Currently, the most common therapy is the use of artificial and biological tear substitutes that aim for osmo-protection, lubrication and stabilization of the ocular surface.(...)" | pt_PT |
