dc.description.abstractTeniendo como referencia los momentos his-tóricos de la fundación del Serviço de Proteção aos Índios, en 1910, y de la Fundação Nacional do Índio, en 1967, este texto se propone anali-zar y reflexionar sobre la forma de concebir las relaciones interétnicas y el propio indigenismo de los militares brasileños del siglo XX. Desde Rondon al AI-5, las relaciones entre lo militar y lo indígena hablan profundamente de como los militares se veían a sí mismos y a la nación. Taking as reference the historical moments of the founding of the Serviço de Proteção aos Índios, in 1910, and of the Fundação Nacional do Índio, in 1967, this text aims to analyze and re-flect on the way of conceiving the inter-ethnic relations and the indigenism of the Brazilian military of the 20th century. From Rondon to AI-5, the relationships between the military and the indigenous speak deeply about how the military viewed themselves and the nation. Tomando como referência os momentos histó-ricos da fundação do Serviço de Proteção aos Índios, em 1910, e da Fundação Nacional do Índio, em 1967, este texto visa analisar e refle-tir sobre a forma de conceber as relações inte-rétnicas e o próprio indigenismo dos militares brasileiros do século XX. De Rondon ao AI-5, as relações entre militares e indígenas falam pro-fundamente sobre como os militares viam-se a si mesmos e à nação.en
