O autor salienta a importância da cultura da medula óssea nos casos de doença do sono em que se obtiveram resultados negativos na pesquisa de tripanossomas pelos métodos habituais e, especialmente, quando as circunstâncias aconselham a realização
de uma biópsia da medula óssea.
The Author stresses the importance of the bone-marrow culture in the cases of seleeping-sickness in which negative results in the search of trypanosomes by usual methods were obtained and specially when circunstances advise to perform the bone-marrow biopsy.
