Resumo(s)

"Membrane protein biogenesis is an essential cellular process, ensuring the proper synthesis, targeting, and insertion of proteins into biological membranes. This thesis investigates the molecular mechanisms governing membrane protein biogenesis, with a particular focus on how the Influenza A Virus (IAV) hijacks host cellular pathways to support viral protein production. The study primarily explores the role of the Endoplasmic Reticulum Membrane Protein Complex (EMC) in the biogenesis of the IAV M2 protein, an integral membrane protein that functions as a proton channel critical for viral replication, budding, and host cell remodeling.(...)"
