O nativo do Bilene é muito interessante para um estudioso; ele merece, no futuro, um estudo preciso e aprofundado sobre o seu carácter, habitat, costumes e hábitos, etnologia, etc.
Fisiologicamente, colocamo-lo no grupo de indivíduos com certa força física, bem proporcionados, com qualidades de adaptação a algum tipo de serviço. As atividades profissionais adotadas pelos indígenas do Bilene são muito variadas.
Muitos deles adquirem hábitos e costumes da vida civilizada, aproximando-se espontaneamente, em algumas situações de emergência das autoridades que os rodeiam, em particular das autoridades administrativas.
No que diz respeito à saúde, embora existam fanáticos por charlatanismo e fervorosos admiradores dos charlatões das florestas virgens, os indígenas de Bilene também estão a compreender muito bem, graças às valentes campanhas e à propaganda sanitária que os Serviços de Saúde da província de Moçambique realizam incansavelmente, que a medicina dos brancos é melhor, com resultados mais seguros e duradouros.
Entre os dados demográficos de 1950, constatamos que a densidade populacional de Bilene aumentou em relação ao censo decenal anterior, sendo uma densidade muito importante no caso dos indígenas africanos.
As estatísticas demonstram de forma evidente os resultados benéficos da laboriosa atividade de todos aqueles que lutam em prol dos nativos de Moçambique.
The natives of Bilene are very interesting for the one who is devoted to study. In future it would be worth while to make a detailed study on the development of their character, habitat, uses and customs, ethnology, etc. Physiologically they are enclosed in the group of individuais with a certain physical robustness; they are well-balanced and their qualities enable them to make any kind of work. The profissional activities of the natives of Bilene are varied. Many of them get uses and customs of the civilized people and whenever they need spontaneously they look for the authorities, principaly the administrative authorities, who are near by them. ln what concerns the sanitary part there are still many people who believe in quack doctors and admire the charlatans of the jungle. However the natives of Bilene are steadily learning that the medicine of the whítes is the best one, with more secure and lasting effects. This has been due to the endeavour of all who work in favour of their welfare and particularly due to the hard campaigns and sanitary propagand that the Public Health Activities of Moçambique are carrying on. In the demographic elements of 1950 it was found that the density of the people of Bilene were increased in relation to the census of the period of the 10 years before. It was a very important density on account of it being of African natives. The statistics proove evidently the successful results of the hard activity of all who work in favour of the natives of Moçambique.
