The transition process between information andknowledge is faster and so the inputs that influencesocial and political practises. The dissemination ofinformation is now determinant in terms of territorialcompetitiveness and both public and private sectortake large benefits when the data-informationknowledge value chain repeats itself trough space andtime. Mankind depends nowadays on the creationand diffusion of good and reliable information. Speedis also important and the greater the speed, the fasterthe opportunities for global markets. Information mustbe an input for knowledge and obviously for decision.So, the power of information is unquestionable.This paper focuses on concepts like information,knowledge and other, more geographical and triesto explain how territories change from real to virtual.Knowledge society appears on an evolutional contextin which information dissemination is wider andtechnological potential overwrites traditional notionsof Geography.To understand the mutations over the territories,the causes and the consequences emerges theGeography of the Knowledge Society, a newdiscipline inside Geography with a special concernabout modern society and socio-economicaldeveloping models.
