O A. informa que na natureza 85 % das tripanosomíases contraídas pelos animais domésticos são mistas, facto que um simples exame hematológico pode, por vezes, não resultar. Dos vários casos verificados nas infestações mistas apresenta:
- Incompatibilidade e supressão duma espécie de tripanosoma.
- Coexistência de várias espécies com períodos de predominância de uma ou outra.
- Coexistência com independência duma e outra.
- Quanto ao A. em tais pesquisas há primeiro que destrinçar a infestação mista, isolar os tripanosomas em causa e então fazer separadamente o seu estudo. Como consequência dos trabalhos feitos, alguns resultados foram obtidos cuja divulgação lhe parece útil apresentar.
The author informs that in nature 85 per cent of trypanosomiasis contracted by domestic animals are mixed, which fact a simple hematological examination may, sometimes, not result from various verified- cases; in the mixed infections it presents: - lncompatibility and supression of a specie of trypanosome. - Coexistence of various species with periods of predominances of one or the other. - Coexistence wisth independance of one or the other. - As regards the A. in such investigations it is necessary in the first place to distinguish the mixed infection, isolate the trypanosomes in question and then make its study separately. As a consequence of the works realized, some results were obtained the disclosure of which appears to be useful to present.
