| dc.description.abstract | A ambição da universalidade, a vontade de divulgar os benefícios trazidos pela industrialização e a fé no progresso fez com que surgisse a necessidade de se criar uma estrutura de exibição aglutinadora da nova vivência urbana: as grandes exposições universais, mundiais, internacionais ou coloniais do século XX. Plataforma a partir da qual se expôs a síntese e os frutos de um desenvolvimento feito a várias escalas e em registos diversos, a “exposição universal” reuniu, sob um mesmo desígnio, a dimensão mais gloriosa do século XX, nomeadamente no que concerne às artes. | en |
