dc.description.abstractTradicionalmente se ha considerado que los edificios construidos bajo la promoción de Pedro I de Castilla guardan numerosas similitudes con las construcciones de su hermanastro Enrique II de Trastámara. De modo genérico, todos estos edificios de promoción real, se han encasillado estilísticamente en lo que conocemos como arquitectura “mudéjar” del siglo XIV. Sin embargo, como vamos a desarrollar en este artículo, existen grandes diferencias tanto a nivel estilístico como a nivel proyectual e ideológico entre la arquitectura bajo la promoción de cada uno de estos soberanos. Nuestro objetivo es subrayar estas diferencias, para con ello revisar el papel que ambos monarcas jugaron como promotores de la arquitectura medieval. Traditionally it has been considered that the buildings constructed under the promotion of Pedro I of Castile have numerous similarities to the constructions from his stepbrother Enrique II of Trastámara. Generically, all these royal promoted buildings, have been stylistically classified in what we known as “mude-jar” architecture from XIV century. However, as we are going to develop in this paper, there are huge differences both in a stylistic level and ideological level between the architecture promoted by each sovereign. Our goal in this paper is to highlight those differences in order to review the role that both monarchs played as promoters of medieval architecture.en
