| dc.description.abstract | 1 - Num pequeno lote de carraças provenientes da ilha da Madeira, identificámos as seguintes espécies: lxodes ricinus (LINNAEUS, 1758) Rhipicephalus sanguineus sanguineus (LATREILLE, 1806) Rhipicephalus bursa CANESTRINI e FANZAGO, 1877 Boophilus calcaratus calcaratus (BIRULA, 1895). 2 - As espécies R. sanguineus sanguineus (LAT.), R. bursa CAN. e FANZ. e B. calcaratus calcaratus (Bir.) são, ao que supomos, pela primeira vez ali assinaladas. 3 - Discute-se a posição sistemática do I. nigricans NEUMANN ( 1899), espécie descrita com base numa única fêmea oriunda daquela região, concluindo-se pela sua sinonimia com o I. ricinus ( L. ). 4 - Também, após o estudo comparativo das espécies R. bursa CAN. e FANZ. e R. lundbladi Schülze ( apenas conhecida pela descrição original, e redescrição da autoria de ZuMPT), decidimo-nos a considerá-las como sinónimas, com primazia, como é óbvio, para a primeira daquelas. 5 - Elaboram-se chaves de identificação para todos os géneros e espécies de carraças presentemente conhecidas na referida ilha. 6 - Por vir a propósito e nos mantermos discordantes com o princípio comummente aceite àcerca da nomenclatura dos nomes científicos dados em substituição de outros já preocupados, propomos a seguinte regra que se nos afigura mais lógica que a actualmente seguida: quando se reconhece que determinada designação científica se encontra preocupada, a primitivamente empregada deverá ser substituída por outra, na condição de se fazer seguir ao nome do autor a data, entre parêntesis, relativa à primeira descrição. Ex.: para o caso da espécie I. obscurus NEUMANN, 1899, cujo nome se encontra preocupado por designação idêntica empregada, em 1805, por FABRICIUS, deverá ser I. nigricans NEUMANN (1899) e não I. nigricans NEUMANN, 1908, representando esta última a data em que se efectuou a substituição. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | 1 - ln a small patch of ticks from Madeira island, the following spec ies were identified: lxodes ricimis (LINNAEUS, 1758) Rhipicephalus sanguineus sangnineus (LATREILLE, 1806) Rhipicephalus bursa CANESTRINI e FANZAG0, 1877 Boophilus calcaratus calcaratus (BiruLA, 1895). 2 - R . sanguineus sanguineus (LAT.), R. bursa CAN. e FANZ. and B. calcaratus calcaratus (Bir.) are recorded for the first time from that island . 3 - The systhematic position of I. nigricans NEUMANN (1899) - which was described upon the observation made upon only one female from that region - is herein discussed arriving at the conclusion that it is synonymous with I. ricinus (L. ). 4 - After the comprative study of R. bursa CAN e FANZ. and R. lundbladi ScHÜLZE (the lather known to the Author only from both the original and ZuMPT's redescriptions) the Author decided to consider there as synonymous, preference being given to the first name. 5 - Dichotomic keys for the identification of all the genera and species known in the island were organised. 6- ln connection with this subject and being in disagreement with the principie often followed in relation with the substitution of the nomenclature of already established scientific name the Author proposes a new rule, which seems to himn more logical than the actual one: when it is found that a certain designation is already preocupied, the original name shall be substituted by the new one, on the condition that the date of the first description, in brackets, follows the name of the author of the first designation.
