Resumo(s)
The global economic and financial crisis, which began in 2008, had significant impact on European countries and resulted in a substantial decrease in defence budgets, particularly in Southern Europe. This article aims to analyse, in a comparative perspective, the political options and the austerity measures’ impact in Southern European countries defence policies, between 2008-2014, and its consequences to the European Union’s integration process, at the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) level.
