| dc.description.abstract | "Transmembrane Flower (Fwe) protein isoforms mediate cell competition, tagging cells for elimination based on fitness. Winner cells express FweUbi, while loser cells express FweLose isoforms, leading to apoptosis through azot activation. This mechanism is linked to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and cancer, as described in Drosophila, mice and humans. Despite extensive research on AD, effective treatments remain elusive. In this study, we use a humanized Drosophila AD model to explore the functional conservation of human FWE isoforms (hFWE) and assess the influence of nutritional regimens on cell competition and AD progression.(...)" | pt_PT |
