| dc.description.abstract | O presente artigo apresenta os resultados preliminares dos trabalhos de registo e avaliação de um elemento naval em madeira identificado durante os trabalhos de escavação arqueológica na Praça D. Luís I em Lisboa. A peça encontrava‑se num contexto portuário, onde se registaram materiais de época romana, que datam entre o século I a.C. e o século V. As medidas, a morfologia e o sistema de fixação desta peça sugerem que fez parte da estrutura de um navio da antiguidade clássica, podendo corresponder a uma peça longitudinal, tábua de forro ou quilha. Na ausência de outros vestígios de navios desta época na costa portuguesa, a peça da Praça D. Luís I constitui um vestígio singular, com importância científica de excepção. This paper presents the preliminary results of the survey and evaluation of a ship timber, identified during the archaeological excavation at D. Luís I Square, in Lisbon. The timber was found in a harbour context, where there were also other artifacts of the Roman era, dating from the first century B.C. to the fifth century A.D.. Mortise‑and‑tenon joinery and the timber measurements suggest that this was part of a ship of the Classical antiquity, corresponding to a longitudinal piece, a ceiling plank or a keel. In the absence of other ships remains in the Portuguese coast, this timber is a singular artifact, with a high scientific value. | en |
