A crise na Ucrânia confirmou a Alemanha como ator político europeu que assumiu a liderança estratégica na resposta do Ocidente à Rússia. Um ano após a anexação da Crimeia mantém-se, contra as expectativas, a convergência firme que combina uma diplomacia assente, por um lado, em sanções económicas, e, por outro, na manutenção do diálogo político com Moscovo num conflito para o qual a Alemanha insiste não existir uma solução militar. O investimento nestes mecanismos, numa interpretação de networked security, revela que a Alemanha está finalmente a seguir uma perspetiva estratégica na condução da sua política externa, com o objetivo de recuperar uma ordem euro-atlântica e transatlântica estável. The crisis in Ukraine confirmed Germany as the European political actor which has taken on the strategic leadership in the West's response to Russia. One year after the annexation of Crimea, and against expectations, the firm and convergent stance of Germany and its European partners continues, combining a twofold diplomacy based, first, on economic sanctions, and secondly, on the maintenance of political dialogue politician with Moscow in a conflict for which Germany insists there is no military solution. Investment in these mechanisms, through an interpretation of ‘networked security', reveals that Germany is finally following a strategic perspective in the conduct of its foreign policy, with the aim of recovering a Euroatlantic and transatlantic stable order.
