Genealogia identitária e reprodução sócio-cultural no concelho de Aljezur

Abstract

Num concelho onde a natureza e o modelo de transmissão dos conhecimentos e a socialização entre as gerações familiares se alterou profundamente, o presente trabalho tem por objecto analisar a reprodução geracional de uma genealogia idenJtária, o modo como são percepcionadas e transportadas para o presente valores e práJcas ancestrais, expostas à permeabilidade dos fenómenos de localidade com a rede de fluxos globais, e à interacção gerada pela circulação massiva de informação, pessoas e bens. Este projecto, que tem por base dois documentários, procura dar conta do processo de transmissão e reprodução do “saber fazer”, enquanto conhecimento das matérias e competência técnica do arBfice, existente nas mãos e no corpo, incorporada e conJnuamente praJcada, tornada memória vivida, garanJndo desse modo que os referentes materiais e simbólicos, integrantes da idenJdade e herança sócio-cultural de um grupo, sejam conservados e/ou adaptados ao seu desempenho individual no presente. Acompanhando duas famílias cuja acJvidade está ligada há três gerações a dois oMcios tradicionais no concelho de Aljezur - a “arte” da pesca artesanal no PorJnho da praia da Arrifana e a “arte” da desJlação de aguardente de medronho na serra de Monchique, percorremos o espaço e o tempo familiar auto-biográfico e o que dele foi re-significado e transportado para o espaço e para o tempo actual, comparando o seu percurso e as suas escolhas com fontes historiográficas locais.

In a county where the socializaJon between family generaJons has been profoundly altered, breaking the nature of the tradiJonal transmission model of knowledge, the following works deals with the transmission and reproducJon of a genealogy idenJty made within the family memory. It quesJons the way values and ancestral pracJces are perceived and transported to the present, once exposed to the permeability of locality phenomena with the network of global flows and the interacJon generated by the massive circulaJon of informaJon, people and commodiJes. The project reflects on the process of transmission and reproducJon of the "knowhow", as a knowledge of the raw materials and technical competence of the cramsman, moving hands and body, incorporated and conJnuously pracJced, becoming a lived memory, thus ensuring that the material and symbolic values of the idenJty and sociocultural heritage of a group, are conserved and / or adapted to their individual performance in the present. It aims to understand how each generaJon discovers a path guided by clues - stories, signs, gestures, through which it builds its own idenJty, recognising and regeneraJng what is already there, thus giving conJnuity to socio-cultural referents and pracJces related to a territory and its local resources. Going trough the biographical space and family Jme whose acJvity is linked for three generaJons to two tradiJonal crams in the municipality of Aljezur, one pracJcing the art of arJsanal fishing in Arrifana beach and another one handling in the producJon of a firewater disJlled from the strawberry tree fruit (aguardente the medronho) in the mountain of Monchique, apending to what was re-signified and adapted to the needs of the present space and Jme, comparing its pathway and its choices with local historiographical sources.
