Abstract: This thesis undertakes a comprehensive examination of Elon Musk's proposed acquisition of Twitter, with a specific focus on the central theme of acquisition valuation and its intricate financial dimensions. Within this context, I dissect Twitter's evolutionary trajectory from a digital town square to a global communication force, meticulously analysing challenges about content governance, financial performance, and user engagement. As a student researcher, I illuminate Twitter's strategic responses to societal imperatives, emphasising its influence in shaping global discourse. The narrative unfolds through legal disputes, nuanced financial intricacies, and ideological conflicts, converging to redefine Twitter's fundamental nature within innovative acquisition valuation and financing strategies.
