| Abstract: | In the scientific community, the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) topic is gaining attention. Studies on IAQ perception and IAQ monitoring devices are on the rise. This field is evolving to encompass a spectrum of approaches, ranging from enhancing IAQ perception to developing affordable sensing solutions. Although, the studies about the acceptance and intention to use of these devices are sparse. Through the lens of a hybrid model composed by the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) this study endeavors to understand the intention to use an Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Device (IAQMD). To do that, an online survey was made, and it was collected 137 valid answers. It was found that the Perceived Vulnerability, Habit and Price Value were the main variables that led to the use of an IAQMD. The proposed model explained 85.3% of the variance of the behavioral intention. |
