| Abstract: | The following research paper intends to analyze the impact of IT on the music industry by conducting a qualitative and quantitative analysis. The qualitative analysis exhibits a strong interconnected influence of IT on the industry's revenues, which decreased because of music sharing platforms and music piracy before increasing from 2015 onward, mainly because of music streaming services. These results are supported by the survey about music consumers' perceptions and opinions about the topic, where participants exhibit a solid adaptation to digital music consumption. Lastly, AI technology for music production is perceived as a highly debatable topic for future research. |
