Abstract: Although the theory of shared value creation claims that collaborations between businesses and other entities or organizations enhance shared value creation, less is known in the literature about the precise nature of this relationship between such collaboration and shared value creation, and how this translates into social impact. This study examines the case of Casa do Agricultor, a Mozambican distributor of agricultural inputs, using qualitative methods to understand to what extent its partnership with USAID-INOVA project led to shared value creation and social impact. This research findings that, although the collaboration led to shared value creations, there is no evidence that connect it to social impact and in practice some kinds of collaboration that seek to create shared value can be a cause of performing paradoxes, where the focus turn to financial performance.
