Abstract: "In most species, male sexual behaviour involves a complicated sequence of events that culminates with the delivery of sperm and fertilisation of the female egg. However, despite decades of research, very little is still known regarding the mechanics controlling this behaviour. In this thesis, by using mice as our model system, we aimed to understand the neuronal mechanisms underlying male sexual behaviour, in particular the involvement of the midbrain dopaminergic neurons.(...)"
