Abstract: The work project analyses the evolution of the European consulting industry during the last decade. Key findings are compared with past studies comprising the evolution of the market from the 1960’s to the 1990’s in order to assess the validity of two expected trends: evolution in a convergent path (homogenization hypothesis) and dominance of American companies (Americanization hypothesis). The conclusions from this study contradict the homogenization hypothesis, characterizing Europe as a continent of diversity. While the Americanization hypothesis seems plausible, European consultancies remain relevant players. A new discussion topic arises: is Europe replicating the Americanization phenomenon (Europeanization hypothesis)?
