Abstract: The case presents the challenges that the Hong Kong-based family business Lee Man Kinhas to face during a complicated period characterized by economic unpredictability and social instabilityderived from the U.S.-China trade war and the violent protests in Hong Kong. The company is facing serious financial troubles and the situation is even worsened by the pressure that the founder of the company, who has been out of thisfamily business, puts on his daughter-in-law, who is the current company‟s CEO. If diamonds are said to be forever, does this concept hold also forthe jewellery company Lee Man Kin?
