moderno.
No entanto, a despeito
Nesses termos, a
experiĂȘncia cinematogrĂĄfica Ă© capaz de constituir modos de existĂȘncias singulares.
Cinema as a cultural institution plays an important role in shaping the modern subject. Given the expansion of Hollywood productions in the early twentieth century, its films contributed to the consolidation of Western imagery based on certain beliefs, including the norms of sexuality and gender. The underlying discourses of the images exercised pedagogies that, when incorporated culturally, corroborated the legitimization or subalternation of identity arrangements and sexual practices. However, in spite of its normalizing dimension, this work considers that films can also point out lines of breakage. By launching new forms of manifestation of the desire, the body and affections, film can exercise resistance and subvert the normative framework. In these terms, cinematic experience is capable of forming singular modes of existence.
