De AF a ZUP: uma análise da linguagem da internet num contexto de tradução para legendagem

Abstract

O presente relatório pretende descrever a experiência da autora enquanto estagiária na Sintagma Traduções Unipessoal, Lda. Serão igualmente analisados problemas encontrados durante o período de estágio que envolvem a linguagem da Internet e a sua tradução para o meio audiovisual. As competências trabalhadas e projetos realizados durante o estágio serão descritas numa primeira parte do relatório. De seguida, será apresentada a definição de linguagem da Internet. Numa última parte, serão expostas considerações gerais acerca da tradução audiovisual e, por fim, analisados os problemas e as suas resoluções. Desta forma, pretende-se dar a conhecer a complexidade da tradução da linguagem da Internet na legendagem, apresentando possíveis soluções para problemas que envolvem expressões próprias, acrónimos, siglas e abreviaturas que qualquer tradutor pode encontrar ao longo do seu percurso.

The main goal of this report is to analyse the author’s experience as an intern at Sintagma Traduções Unipessoal, Lda. Situations where difficulties regarding the translation of Internet language in audiovisual translation arose during the internship mentioned formerly will likewise be analysed. Firstly, this report will explain the skills trained and projects completed during the internship. Then, a definition of Internet language will be presented. There will be some general considerations regarding audiovisual translation and, finally, an analysis of the challenges met and how they were tackled. In this way, this report aims to explain the complexity of Internet language translation in subtitling by presenting possible solutions to challenges regarding particular expressions, acronyms, initials and abbreviations, which any translator may face.
