Resumo(s)
As lacas nanban de exportação são um conjunto de objectos caracterizados pela
associação de formas e modelos decorativos que circulavam através das rotas marítimas
asiáticas, com as artes do Japão. Esta produção aproximadamente balizada entre as
últimas décadas do séc. XVI e meados do séc. XVII, surge das encomendas feitas pelos
missionários e mercadores que estiveram presentes no Japão neste período, e evolui
adaptando-se ao seu gosto. A diversidade de encomendadores envolvidos, com recursos
financeiros e gostos diferenciados, imprimiram a estas peças um carácter heterogéneo e
diversificado
Nanban export lacquerware is a group of objects characterized by the merging of shapes and decorative models, which circulated through Asian maritime routes, and the arts of Japan. This production, loosely restricted to the last couple of decades of the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century, emerged from the commissions made by the missionaries and merchants who were in Japan at that time, and evolved to suit their taste. The variety of commissioners involved, with their own tastes and financial resources, made this a heterogenous and diverse group.
