Abstract

From a review of A Engomadeira we will ascertain how Almada builds, in a systematic and thoroughly elaborated way, a fictional grid that captures the reader in its transition from reality to unconsciousness. The description of pictorical scenarios and the passage from a narrative logic influenced by feuilletonistic literature to the absurd of images born of dreams and metamorfoses hasten what will be the surrealistic aesthetics. A partir de uma leitura de A Engomadeira pode verificar-se como Almada, de forma sistemática e plenamente elaborada, constrói uma rede ficcional que captura o leitor na passagem do real ao inconsciente. A descrição de cenários pictóricos e a passagem de uma lógica narrativa influenciada pela literatura folhetinesca ao jogo absurdo de imagens nascidas do sonho e da metamorfose antecipam o que será a estética surrealista.
