O Teatro do Oprimido: Uma Poética da Transgressão. Formando Espect-Atores

Abstract

Esta investigação tem como objetivo contribuir para a compreensão da linguagem teatral do Teatro do Oprimido, como uma linguagem estética, epistemológica e social de transgressão. Queremos, com esta investigação, evidenciar que o Teatro do Oprimido, que surgiu na América Latina, é uma poética de transgressão e que essa transgressão lhe confere originalidade e o distancia das convenções teatrais europeias. Baseada numa perspetiva estético–ideológica, pretendemos propor uma outra leitura teatral que não tenha parâmetros eurocêntricos de interpretação teatral. A análise desenvolveu-se a partir do ponto de vista da História do Teatro quer na Europa, quer na América Latina para chegarmos à transgressão que esta investigação considera como inerente ao Teatro do Oprimido. É na intervenção direta com o público, na sua participação ativa, dentro do espaço de representação, que o Teatro do Oprimido cumpre plenamente a sua função: a de ser um ensaio para a transformação de uma realidade opressora. No Teatro do Oprimido a possibilidade dada ao espetador de ser um espect-ator, afastando-o de uma postura contemplativa e passiva, permite a sua transformação em protagonista responsável das suas próprias opiniões que, além de debatidas, podem ainda ser representadas. Neste estudo, adotámos uma metodologia qualitativa para a concretização dos objetivos expostos. É um estudo caracterizado por uma abordagem comparatista que tem como princípio metodológico a análise dos elementos constituintes de uma praxis teatral relativa à produção e receção, nas linguagens teatrais europeias, bem como na do Teatro do Oprimido.

This research aims to contribute to the understanding of the theatrical language Theatre of the Oppressed, as an aesthetic, epistemological and social language of transgression. It is our intention to demonstrate with this investigation that the Theatre of the Oppressed that emerged in Latin America is a poetics of transgression and that transgression gives it originality, and distance from European theatrical conventions. Based on an aesthetic - ideological perspective intend to propose another theatrical reading without Eurocentric parameters of theatrical interpretation. The analysis developed from the point of view of the history of theatre both in Europe and in Latin America to reach the transgression that this research considers inherent in the Theatre of the Oppressed. It is in direct intervention with the public, the active participation within the space of representation, that the Theatre of the Oppressed fully fulfills its function: to be a rehearsal for transformation of an oppressive reality. In the Theatre of the Oppressed the possibility given to the onlooker to be a spect- actor, setting it apart from a contemplative and passive posture allowing its transformation into a protagonist responsible for his/her own opinions which can be debated but also be represented. In this study, we adopted a qualitative methodology to achieve the stated objectives. It is a study characterized by a comparative approach which methodological principle is the analysis of the belonging elements of a theatrical praxis related with production and reception in European theatrical languages, as well as in the Theatre of the Oppressed.
