This report aims to describe in what extent the use of artistic expressions as a pedagogical tool to develop and enhance communicative competence in Portuguese in native language classes and Spanish in foreign language classes. Therefore, the first chapter, is based on the guiding documents for the teaching of languages, the definitions of art and learning in art, as well as theoretical studies about the educational potential of artistic languages selected, such as, painting, comics, short films and music. The second chapter presents Pedro Arrupe School, its educational project and the class where the Supervised Teaching Practice was developed. Then, the didactic sequences and cultural activities were analyzed critically. These ones were considered the most relevant in the context of the theme studied in this report. The last chapter is devoted to final reflections that enable a critical assessment about the work developed
