Eventos de divulgação científica como o Dia Aberto ou o Cientista Vem À Nossa Escola fazem parte de um conjunto de atividades organizadas pelo ITQB de forma a promover a ciência na sociedade em geral. O objetivo do estágio curricular no gabinete de comunicação do Instituto foi avaliar a utilidade deste tipo de iniciativas, do ponto de vista dos visitantes e dos investigadores que nelas participam.
Para tal, acompanhou-se o processo de planeamento e execução das iniciativas e fez-se uma avaliação sob diversos prismas, de cada uma das atividades. A análise dos resultados obtidos permitiu concluir que estas iniciativas são benéficas para os visitantes, para os investigadores e para o ITQB, e ficámos a saber de que forma estes eventos influenciam os investigadores e os participantes.
Science outreach events such as the ITQB Open Day or the Scientist Comes to Our School are organized by ITQB, with the goal to promote science amongst the general public. The main purpose of this curricular internship was to understand how this kind of activities benefits the institute, the researchers and the visitors. We followed the planning and execution process of both events and we used different evaluation tools, such as surveys, visitor’s book, post-its and photography. The analysis of the results shows that these activities are beneficial to visitors, to researchers and to ITQB. We were also able to understand how these activities affect researchers and participants.
