O Jornalismo Online e o Tempo em Fluxo: Seis meses no Diário de Notícias

Abstract

O jornalismo online está a amadurecer, mas continua a tentar encontrar um espaço de equilíbrio entre a pressão do imediatismo exigido pela Internet e a verificação dos factos, com alguma paciência e moderação, que a profissão requer. Este relatório explora o dia a dia desse exercício de equilibrismo no Diário de Notícias, um jornal com mais de 150 anos de história que está a tentar estabilizar no panorama digital. Trata-se de uma reflexão acerca da forma como as pressões de tempo mudam no meio digital, e como afetam o jornalismo, o jornalista na sua prática profissional, e o resultado final, a notícia.

Digital journalism is maturing, but it is still trying to find its place of balance between the Internet’s demands of immediacy and the profession’s teachings of somewhat patient and moderate fact-checking habits. This report explores the day to day of that exercise in balance at Diário de Notícias, a publication with a history that spans 150 years, which is still trying to “find itself” in the digital media landscape. It is a reflection on the way that time’s pressures change online, and the ways they affect journalism, the journalist in his/her professional practice, and the final object, the news article or story.
