Proposta de didatização de Um confronto imaginado e uma profecia (Um auto do século XX), de Conceição Lima, para o contexto são-tomense

Abstract

A complexidade do ensino de línguas e literatura em São Tomé e Príncipe (STP) é acentuada pela diversidade linguística e cultural do país. A presença de múltiplos sistemas linguísticos, incluindo três crioulos autóctones, o crioulo caboverdiano e o português como língua oficial, cria um ambiente desafiador para o ensino do Português Língua Segunda (PLS). A par disso, a proximidade linguística entre a variante do português europeu (PE) e o Português Oral de São Tomé e Príncipe (POSTP), bem como a coexistência desregrada de todos estes sistemas linguísticos contribuem para dificuldades adicionais na aprendizagem do português normativo. Somam-se a estes a falta de materiais didáticos adaptados e a insuficiência de programas de leitura, na qualidade de fatores que comprometem a eficácia do ensino de literatura em São Tomé e Príncipe. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo abordar essas questões, propondo uma didatização inovadora do texto dramático Um Auto do Século XX, de Conceição Lima, para o contexto do ensino de PLS, em STP. A proposta visa explorar e integrar a obra no currículo de Língua Portuguesa (LP), promovendo uma abordagem que valoriza tanto a formação linguística quanto a educação literária dos alunos da 12.ª classe. O trabalho começa com uma análise detalhada do contexto sociolinguístico de São Tomé e Príncipe, incluindo a variação linguística e a influência do POSTP. Em seguida, a dissertação investiga os métodos e desafios atuais no ensino da literatura, examinando as diretrizes estabelecidas pela Lei de Bases do Sistema Educativo e a Constituição em relação ao ensino da LP. A proposta didática é desenvolvida a partir de uma abordagem que combina elementos culturais locais com práticas pedagógicas adaptadas, com o objetivo de melhorar a compreensão e o engajamento dos alunos com a literatura. A metodologia inclui a análise crítica da obra de Conceição Lima, a definição do público-alvo e a elaboração de uma sequência didática para o nível de proficiência B2, do Quadro Europeu Comum de Referência para as Línguas (QECR). Os resultados demonstram que a didatização do texto dramático promove um maior envolvimento dos alunos com a literatura, melhorando suas competências linguísticas, socioculturais e estético-artísticas. Assim, certo é que a exploração da obra Um Auto do Século XX, junto ao público estudantil são-tomense revolucionará a maneira como encaram a literatura. A dissertação conclui que a integração de textos literários relevantes e adaptados ao contexto local pode transformar o ensino de PLS, contribuindo para uma educação mais rica e significativa.

The complexity of language and literature teaching in São Tomé and Príncipe (STP) is accentuated by the country's linguistic and cultural diversity. The presence of multiple language systems, including three indigenous creoles, Cape Verdean Creole and Portuguese as the official language, creates a challenging environment for teaching Portuguese as a Second Language (PLS). In addition, the linguistic proximity between the European Portuguese (EP) variant and São Tomé and Príncipe Oral Portuguese (POSTP), as well as the unregulated coexistence of all these linguistic systems contribute to additional difficulties in learning normative Portuguese. In addition, the lack of adapted teaching materials and insufficient reading programmes are factors that compromise the effectiveness of literature teaching in São Tomé and Príncipe. This dissertation aims to address these issues by proposing an innovative didacticization of the dramatic text Um Auto do Século XX, by Conceição Lima, for the context of PLS teaching in STP. The proposal aims to explore and integrate the work into the Portuguese language (LP) curriculum, promoting an approach that values both the linguistic and literary education of grade 12 students. The work begins with a detailed analysis of the sociolinguistic context of São Tomé and Príncipe, including linguistic variation and the influence of POSTP. The dissertation then investigates current methods and challenges in the teaching of literature, examining the guidelines established by the Lei de Bases do Sistema Educativo and the Constitution in relation to the teaching of the Portuguese language. The didactic proposal is developed from an approach that combines local cultural elements with adapted pedagogical practices, with the aim of improving students' understanding of and engagement with literature. The methodology includes a critical analysis of Conceição Lima's work, the definition of the target audience and the development of a didactic sequence for proficiency level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The results show that the didacticization of the dramatic text promotes greater student involvement with literature, improving their linguistic, socio-cultural and aesthetic-artistic skills. Thus, it is certain that the exploration of the work Um Auto do Século XX, with the São Toméan student public will revolutionize the way they approach literature. The dissertation concludes that the integration of relevant literary texts adapted to the local context can transform the teaching of PLS, contributing to a richer and more meaningful education
