Abstract: This paper examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on rural tourism, with reference to one of the most best-known tourist accommodation products in the Portuguese countryside, TER. Based on an online survey conducted with TER managers and statistics, it questions the idea that the pandemic has favoured rural tourism.
