Com o conhecimento da existência de museus a nível internacional dedicados a
heranças difíceis, isto é, a passados indesejados e traumáticos, na maioria caraterizados
pela violência e opressão, como o Holocausto, o objetivo desta dissertação foi
primeiramente realizar um estado da arte sobre este assunto, definindo vários conceitos
importantes que, numa segunda parte, foram aplicados à realidade portuguesa, mais
precisamente, ao recente Museu do Aljube-Resistência e Liberdade, em Lisboa, dedicado
à herança difícil portuguesa da ditadura, analisando-o como um museu de herança difícil
ou museu-memorial assente não numa coleção mas antes num espaço performativo.
With the knowledge of the existence of international museums dedicated to difficult heritage, that is, to unwanted and traumatic pasts, most characterized by violence and oppression, like the Holocaust, the main goal of this work was first establish the state of art about this matter by defining a number of important concepts that, in a second part, were applied to the Portuguese reality, more precisely, to the recent Museu do Aljube- Resistência e Liberdade, in Lisbon, dedicated to the difficult heritage of Portuguese dictatorship, analyzing it as a museum of difficult heritage or memorial-museum based not on a collection but instead in a performative space.
