Analysis of the relationship between venture performance and non-financial support provided by impact venture capitalists

Abstract

Using data from the Portuguese impact venture capitalist maze impact, the relationship between non-financial support and the financial performance of portfolio ventures in the impact investment space is analyzed. For that, a meta-analytical approach is used after the impact investment market and the platform role of venture capitalists were discussed. Findings that can be derived from the analyses suggest that a positive correlation of non-financial support on financial performance depends on the support area and only includes successfully provided support in talent acquisition, PR and Marketing. However, non-financial support in general tends to be negatively correlated to financial venture performance.
