The global textile industry has detrimental effects on environment and society alike. This paper contributes to current literature by depicting benefits of utilizing sustainable and innovative (preferred) fibers, regarding their potential for improving environmental-, and social sustainability, and deriving potential business opportunities. This paper utilizes a qualitative summary analysis according to Mayring (2015) by consulting expert opinions through conducting inter views. Results indicate strong potential for preferred-fibers regarding impact reduction through out various supply-chain steps, as well as a general underutilization, especially in the B2B sector. Finally, a comprehensive conclusion, along with opportunities is derived and further research and limitations are depicted.pt_PT
