| dc.description.abstract | The April Revolution operated a profound transformation in Portuguese society, and allowed the emergence of new amateur theatrical groups, inserted in associations, collectivities, sports clubs and schools. In the period between 1974 and 1976, amateur theater emerged as a uniting force, with aesthetic-ideological projects shaped in texts and scenic readings woven in the process of transformation of society. Theatre at the service of the People and the Revolution, as a mission and a political project. In this article, I question the creative capacity of amateur theater during the Ongoing Revolutionary Period (PREC), taking as an object of study the group of Cultural Animation Theater of Almada (TACA), formed by students of technical schools, for whom theatre was a fertile ground for political awareness and collective experimentation. | en |
