Over the past few years, we have watched a gradual insertion of the female figure in the fields of journalism and sport. As such, and for a better understanding of the process, it is necessary to go back, in the first place, to the history of sports journalism itself, considering the developments it has undergone in recent years, and the challenges it faces today. In parallel, the entry of the female figure in the universe of journalism, in general, and in sports journalism, in particular, becomes equally important. Thus, it is essential to understand how the process of insertion of women in the area occurred, not forgetting the barriers and gender challenges that they had to challenge. Having analysed all these elements, we are in a position to study how sports journalism looks at women as sportsmen. In other words, how is the representation of the same made, and which mechanisms this type of journalism uses to do so. The present study intended to analyse the representation of the female figure as a sportsman in television sports journalism, through a case study of the informative segments of SPORT.TV+. The same was conducted throughout an established period of analysis, and with recourse to the alignments of the mentioned information segments. The results are revealing: the female figure is under-represented in the analysed media, and little expression is given to the contents that concern her.
